Employee satisfaction comes through personal and professional growth and an enriching work environment. At Orthodyne, continuing education, in-service training, and face-to-face visits with customers at production sites help us to design products that fit into real-world situations. With our emphasis on individual growth and long-term opportunity, one of Orthodyne's strategies is in-house cross training, which broadens each person's experience and ability to make informed decisions. A flat management system encourages problem solving and decision making at all levels by the people involved. Customers benefit from this approach because employees are qualified and empowered to make decisions. As an employee-owned company, the focus at Orthodyne is on the long term, not a temporary or short term gain. This is true in our hiring, training, investments and relationships with customers and suppliers. Our owner-employees take pride in everything we do, and share in the company's successes. Investing in technology The technologies required to serve our markets are extensive. Orthodyne gives full support to the development of in-house expertise in the areas of ultrasonics, motor controls, robotics, vision systems, factory automation and software. There is ample opportunity to learn beyond your specialty. And to do good work, you need the right tools. Orthodyne invests in superior design and work tools. Mechanical engineers use Pro Engineering CAD tools and high speed motion analyzers. A full-time Pro-E certified trainer is on staff to assist engineers in using the software to its fullest potential. Electrical engineers have the resources of Zuken-Redac for schematic capture and PCB layout, Viewlogic VHDL for programmable logic, Xilinx Foundation Package for FPGA's and Altera Max+PlusII for programmable logic and FPGA's. Software engineers work with Wind River Tornado, Real Time Operating Systems (RTOS), Windows NT and CASE tools for object-oriented design. Our prototype machine shop and R&D lab are staffed with highly skilled technicians and fully equipped with a scanning electron microscope, laser interferometer, and CNC milling machine. A good match Like any long-term relationship, the chances for success between employer and employee are much better if values and goals are a good match. Orthodyne's commitment to maintaining a unique, collaborative spirit is ever important, even as our organization grows. We look for individuals with a long-term perspective, who value accountability, are ready and willing to take responsibility at many levels, and work best in a team environment. The world awaits The worldwide market for our products presents opportunities for travel to interesting places. Engineers have firsthand involvement in projects from concept to installation, from Munich to Malaysia. Our engineering and customer support staff have traveled the world, an experience that has been meaningful for personal growth as well as for customer relationships. For those with a sense of adventure, there are exciting opportunities at Orthodyne. |
